Ceremony Celebrates New KTD Abbot and President

Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin

was invested as

KTD Monastery’s abbot

on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.

During the same ceremony, Lama Lodro Lhamo was invested as KTD President, and Lama Karma Drodhul was thanked for his service as president.

Khenpo Ugyen and Lama Lodro were appointed by His Holiness Karmapa earlier this month. They will serve three-year terms. 
 
 
In his remarks, outgoing President Lama Karma Drodhul thanked all the Khenpos, lamas and monastics at KTD, as well as the staff members and volunteers for helping KTD cope with the difficulties presented by the coronavirus pandemic. KTD was able to offer hundreds of webcast sessions during the pandemic and conduct many pujas for the benefit of beings.
